Angpan Bread

Angpan bread is a soft bread rooted in Asian baking traditions, known for its fluffy texture and richly flavored fillings. It is typically filled with sweet ingredients like red beans, but in this modern version, angpan is paired with cheddar cheese and dried fruit, creating a unique blend of savory, sweet, and slightly tangy flavors.

INGREDIENTS

 

Hyme flour: 1000 g

Angel Instant Yeast (Gold Premium): 20 g

Angel Bread Improver: 5 g

Sugar: 70 g

Powdered milk: 50 g

Arla Unsalted Butter: 90 g

Salt: 15 g

Ice water: 500 g

Selma Dried Sweetened Cranberries: 250 g

Green Valley Shredded Cheddar Cheese: 400 g

HOW TO MAKE

Combine all the dry ingredients and Angel Instant Yeast, and mix gently for 1 minute.

Pour in the ice water, then mix on low speed for 4 minutes and continue on high speed for 6 minutes.

Once the dough is smooth, add the butter and salt, then mix again until well combined.

Let the dough rest for 10 minutes, then weigh out portions of 50–60 g each or as needed.

Shape the dough into balls and fill with Green Valley Shredded Cheddar Cheese.

Seal the top of the dough, then press lightly to distribute the filling evenly.

Bake at 220°C (top heat)
