Bolu Manan Sahmin

Manan Sahmin is a legendary moist cake from Palembang, known for its very soft, sweet, and melt-in-the-mouth texture. Traditionally, this cake is made using yellow sweet potatoes. However, in this creation, the use of Yu Ai Yam Ube adds a new dimension: an elegant purple color and the distinctive aroma of purple sweet potatoes, making it a classic dish with a more modern and appetizing look.

INGREDIENTS

500 g Yu Ai Yam Ube

100 g Unsalted Butter

200 g Eggs

125 g Granulated Sugar

95 g Sweetened Condensed Milk

250 g Coconut Milk

100 g All-Purpose Flour

2 g Salt

4 g Vanilla Powder

100 g Raisins

50 g Granulated Sugar

HOW TO MAKE

1
Beat the eggs, YUAI YAM UBE, and granulated sugar until the sugar dissolves. Add sweetened condensed milk, mix well, then add coconut milk and wheat flour alternately while stirring until well blended. Finally, add salt and stir again.
2
Pour the batter into a greased baking pan lined with parchment paper. Bake in the oven at 180°C on low heat for 30-45 minutes.
3
After 5 minutes or when the surface of the cake begins to crust, sprinkle raisins and sugar to taste, then continue baking until done. Perform a skewer test to ensure doneness.
4
Cool the cake before removing it from the pan, then serve.
